“Have you ever thought of spending one semester in Germany?”

    “Join us in Cologne!”

    Cologne Business School

    GERMANY
    ______________________________

    What is Cologne Business School?

Cologne Business School (CBS) is a private business school established in 1993 in the city of Cologne, Germany. It was amongst the first universities in Germany to be recognized globally, having been accredited by the “International Accreditation Council for Business Education”. CBS provides on-site study programs both in English and German language which can be studied part-time, full-time, or as an extra-occupational program. The courses are integrated with a semester abroad with its broad international network of 130 partner universities worldwide. Undergraduate courses such as Finance and Management and International Business and Master’s degrees in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, and Digital Marketing are quite popular among international students.

Read on to find out from Bonus, a BEcon alumna, as she shares her story as an exchange student in the Cologne Business School:

“My name is Nachaya Sriteeraviroj, or you can call me “Bonus” for short. During my university years, I was granted scholarships from KU that covered all expenses for my trip and accommodation. There were many reasons why I chose to study in the Cologne Business School in Germany; one of it was because CBS offered so many courses and activities outside the classroom that I was interested in. Second, was because I wanted to travel. I knew that Germany was located in Central Europe, which meant that traveling around 26 countries was more accessible and easier with the Schengen visa. Lastly, in my point of view, having a third language is important. Nowadays, being fluent in Thai and English might not be enough, and so, what better way is it to learn German than to put myself in an environment where I will be exposed to native German speakers, right?

Becoming an exchange student in Germany allowed me to do many things that I couldn’t have done in Thailand. The environment around me was amazing; the fresh air I got to enjoy as I rode my bike to school every day, having lunch at the park on sunny days, the new friends I made and the different cultures I learned about, I enjoyed every moment of my life as an exchange student in CBS.

My experiences abroad have changed my life so much in many ways. My plan after graduation was to be able to work in an international company. When I came back to Thailand, during my last semester at KU, the Deutsche Bank, one of the biggest banks in Germany had a job vacancy for a Credit Analyst. I knew then that it was my chance, and so I applied for the position and was selected as a candidate for interview. Fortunately, I was able to get the job and I started working 2 weeks right after my final exams.”

To those of you reading this article, I’m encouraging you to join this program as well. Many good opportunities are waiting for you here!”
